Come out to camp, hang out with fun people, enjoy camp in the wintertime, and get paid to become certified in Belay, Target Sports, Mountain Biking and/or Shooting Sports!

These trainings are open to both LLYC and LLFC staff and you are welcome to stay for all or some of the trainings. You must be 18 or older by the first day of training.
Staff will be paid $100 for the first day attending training, and then $50 for any additional days trained. For attending all three days staff will receive $250.
**Training starts promptly at 8 a.m. on the first day. For most people this means you will need to arrive the evening before your training starts.

May 12-16, 2025 (Tentative) at Echo Valley
*Required for all A-Team staff members.
Come out to camp and learn how to facilitate all of our high ropes elements as well as how to belay campers on our natural climbs and rappels. No prior experience is required, but you must be up for adventure! You must be 18 or older by the first day of training. You will receive a level 1 challenge course certification through Adventure Experiences. This certification will last for one year.
Bonus: We pay you $200 for this week of training AND you will receive an extra $45 per week during the summer.

May 17, 2025 (Tentative) at Echo Valley
This is a level 1 recertification for returning facilitators who were certified within the last year and have met or exceeded their 50 hours of documented facilitation time.
If you have not been able to acquire 50 hours of facilitation time since last summer, and you want to recert, you need to arrive two days before recertification so you can complete 16 hours (2 days) of in-camp training before taking the recertification test.
This certification will last for one year.
You will receive an extra $45 per week during the summer.

May 18-21, 2025 at Echo Valley
*Required for A-Team and Canyon Club staff members.
Come out to camp and become a Red Cross certified lifeguard so you can supervise swimmers and help campers enjoy our many incredible swimming holes on the Frio! Anyone over 15 years of age may become a lifeguard and your certification will even transfer to other swimming facilities after camp! This certification will last for two years.

***We want as many certified lifeguards on staff as possible. If you have an active Red Cross lifeguard certification, it is valid at camp! If you are unable to attend our scheduled lifeguard training at camp, but would like to get certified locally in the months leading up to camp, LLYC will reimburse you for the training costs. Please contact us if you have confirmed employment with us this summer, and are interested in being reimbursed for training.
